Kevin Jwo, MD is a board-certified, surgical ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and glaucoma with Beach Eye Medical Group in Irvine and Huntington Beach. Doctor Jwo was valedictorian of his high school class at Mount Sinai High School in New York. He then graduated from Harvard University cum laude with a degree in Biology and studied medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Subsequently he completed an ophthalmology residency at Montefiore Medical Center where he was chosen to be Chief Resident during his final year. Most recently he was selected to complete a prestigious fellowship at the University of California, Irvine where he trained with world class glaucoma specialists.
Doctor Jwo’s clinical interests and expertise lie in cataract surgery and treating glaucoma through a variety of medical, laser, and surgical techniques. He performs a wide array of procedures including femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery (LACS), glaucoma laser procedures like SLT and MLT, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGs). He has extensive experience implanting various premium intraocular lenses including multifocal intraocular lenses, extended depth-of-focus (EDOF) lenses, as well as Light Adjustable Lenses (LAL).
Dr. Jwo is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He enjoys traveling, reading, running, and spending time with his family and Shiba Inu dog Eevee. Dr. Jwo is fluent in Mandarin.
I never give reviews but I have to take time out and share my experience at Beach Eye Medical Group - Irvine office. I had a very negative experience with another Ophthalmologist and was referred to Dr Jwo for treatment of an eye condition. He was very kind and caring. He was thorough and ordered a battery of test and left no stone unturned. The office staff is equally amazing!
I would highly recommend Dr Jwo to anyone needing treatment for their eyes!! I give him 5 stars
