Andy Han, MD

Dr. Andy Han is a native of Maryland where he grew up. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in English literature. He earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine where his interest in eye surgery developed. His interest in clinical trials and the development of new therapies then led him to pursue a year of postdoctoral research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Subsequently, he completed his ophthalmology residency and fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at the prestigious Roski Eye Institute at the University of Southern California, ultimately earning a "Resident Teaching Award for Clinical Fellow" upon graduation.

Dr. Han has performed well over a thousand surgeries for a variety of retinal conditions including macular holes, retinal detachments, lens dislocations, vitreous hemorrhages, and epiretinal membranes. He treats a wide range of medical retina disease from macular degeneration to diabetic retinopathy.

He utilizes the newest and most effective, rigorously-tested clinical treatments and injectables. Dr. Han has published several research articles in ophthalmology journals and has presented his findings at national conferences. He is proficient in medical Spanish and is currently spending time after work improving his Korean language skills.

In his spare time, he likes reading books, trying new restaurants and cuisines, and spending time with his friends. His favorite interests outside of ophthalmology include world history and literature.
